Fire crews responded to a major blaze at Dalton Mills, a Victorian textile mill in Keighley, West Yorkshire, on the evening of September 12, marking the fifth significant fire at the site in the past five years. The Grade II-listed building, known for its appearances in television series such as *Peaky Blinders* and *Downton Abbey*, has been repeatedly targeted, including an arson attack in 2011.

The latest fire followed a series of deliberate incidents: in 2022, the interior of Dalton Mills was completely destroyed by fire, and in 2025 another arson attack occurred. Earlier this year, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) confirmed that two separate fires within six days at the derelict location were deliberately set.

In response to the recent fire, WYFRS advised residents to avoid the area due to the severity of the incident and the potential risk of harm. Several residents living nearby were evacuated as a precautionary measure.

Robbie Moore, Member of Parliament for Keighley and Ilkley, expressed his frustration over the recurring incidents in a video posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). He described the situation as “deeply infuriating” and emphasized that this pattern of fires “simply cannot continue.” Moore also noted that he has been urging the local authorities for years to take stronger measures to secure the site, but the repeated fires indicate those efforts have yet to prevent further damage.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the latest fire, with the prior trend of arson attacks raising concerns about the safety and future of the historic mill complex.
