Fans of the classic British sitcom Only Fools and Horses are expected to pay up to £450 for the chance to meet Sir David Jason, the 86-year-old actor famed for his role as Del Boy, at the show’s annual convention this November. The event will take place in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, and has been organised every year since 2020.
Entry to the convention costs £100 per day, but fans who want a personal photo opportunity with Sir David Jason inside a replica of the Trotters’ flat can purchase additional packages ranging from £250 upwards. The highest tier, priced at £450, also includes a front-row seat at an on-stage talk featuring the actor. Organisers have announced that Sir David will be attending in person, alongside other guests who have appeared on the television series.
Due to time constraints, the event will not include autograph signings or the opportunity for selfies with Sir David Jason unless fans purchase the official meet-and-greet package. The organisers have also requested that no gifts be given to the actor, to avoid delays during photo sessions.
Sir David Jason has expressed enjoyment in reprising his famous role and interacting with fans. He has mentioned that he occasionally "morphs into Del" to entertain people, acknowledging that it helps ease social interactions. His portrayal of Del Boy remains beloved decades after Only Fools and Horses first aired in 1981. The show ran for seven series and continued with Christmas specials from 1991 to 2003. Co-star Nicholas Lyndhurst played Del’s brother Rodney.
The series has had a lasting impact on British television audiences, with the 1996 episode "Time on Our Hands" attracting over 24 million viewers. In a statement last December, Sir David Jason remarked that the affection for Only Fools and Horses "has never faded."
The convention continues to draw dedicated fans willing to invest considerable sums for a limited opportunity to connect with one of the show’s most iconic figures.
