An awareness campaign for psoriasis patients took place on Saturday at The Avenues Mall in Kuwait, under the patronage of Farwaniya Governor Sheikh Athbi Nasser Al-Athbi Al-Sabah. The event, organized by the Kuwait Dermatological Society, aimed to educate the public about psoriasis, its causes, treatment options, and the importance of early diagnosis and ongoing medical care.

The event was attended by several key figures, including Dr. Abeer Abdullah Al-Bathali, president of the Kuwait Dermatological Society; Dr. Atlal Khalid Al-Lafi, head of the Dermatology Department at Farwaniya Hospital; the society’s treasurer; and other medical professionals. They welcomed the governor as he engaged with the awareness and educational activities designed to dispel common misconceptions about psoriasis and highlight the need for community support to enhance patients’ quality of life.

Sheikh Athbi emphasized that his involvement reflects a broader commitment to backing health and community initiatives within the governorate. He noted the importance of fostering collaboration between local authorities and medical institutions to improve health literacy and provide better services to residents of Farwaniya Governorate.

The campaign sought to raise understanding about psoriasis, a chronic skin condition affecting many individuals, and focused on encouraging affected patients to seek timely and continuous medical attention to manage their condition effectively.
