Farwaniya Governor Sheikh Athbi Nasser Al-Athbi Al-Sabah convened a meeting on October 1 with key figures from Kuwait’s agricultural and livestock sectors to discuss the “Future Kuwait - Food Security Border Project.” The meeting took place at the Farwaniya Governorate headquarters in Kuwait City.
Participants included Saud Al-Hajraf, president of the Kuwaiti Federation of Feed Traders; Nada Al-Mutairi, a federation board member; and Matar Al-Bughili, a member of the Kuwaiti Union of Livestock Breeders. The discussion focused on strategies to establish a comprehensive system integrating agriculture, livestock, and food production to reinforce Kuwait’s food security framework.
The project aims to bolster local production, promote self-sufficiency, and support state efforts to maintain a stable food supply. Attendees reviewed the initiative’s objectives and stressed the importance of collaboration among relevant agencies to optimize available resources and capabilities in the agricultural and food sectors.
Sheikh Athbi Nasser underscored the governorate’s commitment to endorsing initiatives that enhance community welfare and increase domestic production. He commended ongoing efforts to secure the country’s food supply and develop sustainable local agriculture.
The meeting concluded with expressions of gratitude from the guests toward the governor for his hospitality, engagement with the project, and his support of efforts to strengthen food security and local production in Kuwait.
