Fashion label All For Mimi is facing allegations of copying designs from Sydney-based brand Porchiia, prompting renewed scrutiny over the originality of one of its recent mini dresses. The controversy has grown amid reports that critical comments on All For Mimi’s Instagram posts, which questioned the similarities between the two designs, were removed without explanation.

The dispute arose after Porchiia founder Sienna Callahan, 20, publicly expressed concerns about what she described as striking resemblances between a dress launched by All For Mimi and a viral Porchiia design. Callahan claimed that despite raising these issues, All For Mimi continued to promote the contested dress while deleting comments that highlighted the alleged similarities. “It’s frustrating as a small business because speaking out and sharing your original designs doesn’t necessarily change anything,” she said.

Callahan also pointed to the financial hurdles faced by independent designers seeking legal recourse, noting that pursuing such action can be prohibitively expensive.

All For Mimi was established in 2023 by influencer Sophia Begg, who has amassed a substantial social media following, including approximately 161,000 Instagram followers. In contrast, Porchiia currently counts around 14,500 Instagram followers. All For Mimi has received notable recognition, including TikTok Australia’s Business of the Year award in 2025, and Begg, known online as Sopha Dopha, was featured on Forbes Australia’s 30 Under 30 list.

Begg has denied the allegations, stating that the mini dress in question had been in development for over six months. She emphasized her brand’s commitment to originality, saying, “Knowing how that feels, we would never copy another brand ... it’s not our style.” However, she has not commented on the removal of critical Instagram comments questioning the design’s originality, despite multiple requests for clarification.

The ongoing dispute highlights the challenges small independent fashion labels face when confronting design similarities in the digital era, compounded by social media dynamics and legal complexities.
