Dutch racing driver Loek Hartog demonstrated remarkable bravery during a China GT championship race at the Shanghai International Circuit when he rescued fellow competitor Ollie Millroy from a fiery crash. The 23-year-old driver acted swiftly after his Ferrari came to a halt engulfed in flames and thick smoke.

According to Hartog, there was little time for deliberation. Without hesitation, he exited his vehicle and entered the hazardous conditions to pull Millroy, a 36-year-old British driver and father of three, to safety. Millroy later remarked on Hartog’s courage, saying he would remember the act for the rest of his life.

Hartog sustained serious injuries in the incident, including broken ribs, a fractured collarbone, damage to his hands, and a bruised lung. He remains hospitalized in Shanghai and has undergone surgery for his injuries.
