Federal authorities are investigating Hunter Biden in connection with allegations that he threatened a sex worker, according to court documents released Friday. The inquiry stems from a text message in which Hunter Biden reportedly warned the woman that he was aware of her location and referenced a laptop recording video evidence involving the two.
The FBI affidavit indicates the texts followed an outreach from an unidentified Los Angeles-based sex worker, who contacted federal agents days after Hunter Biden publicly acknowledged an ongoing tax investigation in December 2020. In the messaging, Hunter Biden allegedly said, "Don’t forget that I know where you are, you have an ankle bracelet and that the laptop was recording." The affidavit also notes the woman stated she had engaged in sexual activity with Biden in front of the laptop while he simultaneously FaceTimed a third party.
The sex worker claimed that Hunter Biden did not pay her for services rendered and subsequently threatened her over time, demanding reimbursement from her for money she alleged he owed.
The investigation is part of a broader federal inquiry involving Hunter Biden, Nikki Floris, and Bradley Benavides. Floris and Benavides were interviewed as part of the probe into alleged corruption and influence peddling linked to the Biden family. Floris’s attorneys have strongly denied the charges against her, arguing they were politically motivated and not based on evidence. They called her a "patriot" and accused the Justice Department of pursuing the case on the directives of politicians rather than facts.
Benavides’s lawyer has requested a court hearing to determine if there is sufficient evidence to proceed with charges against both clients, who have been described by some advocates as "two lifetime public servants."
This latest development comes amid heightened federal enforcement led by the Trump administration’s Justice Department. Earlier this month, federal agents conducted a raid on the Washington, D.C., residence of Representative Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and brought a separate case against a high-profile Virginia Democrat accused of operating an illegal marijuana enterprise.
Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton characterized the recent charges as the most senior individuals targeted so far in what he described as legal actions intended to undermine former President Donald Trump, citing former FBI Director James Comey as the only higher-profile figure charged to date.
The Justice Department has not publicly commented on the investigation’s specifics. Hunter Biden has previously acknowledged scrutiny over his financial affairs but has denied wrongdoing. The case remains under federal investigation, with further legal developments anticipated in the coming weeks.
