A 15-year-old boy has been sentenced to five years and seven months in a young offender institution for stabbing a classmate at a school in Nottingham. The attack occurred in March when the defendant brought two kitchen knives into the school and stabbed a fellow 15-year-old student in front of other pupils.

The victim sustained a stomach wound and required emergency surgery. Authorities described the injury as potentially life-threatening. At Nottingham Crown Court, the accused admitted to charges of wounding with intent and possession of a bladed article. He declined to provide any comment during the proceedings.

Detective Constable Jaspal Nijjar emphasized the severity of the incident, stating that the victim’s life was at risk due to the attack. The motive behind the stabbing has not been disclosed.
