Filipinos living in the United Arab Emirates can now send money directly to GCash wallets in the Philippines through a newly established partnership between the digital platforms Botim and GCash. This integration allows users in the UAE to transfer funds that recipients can immediately use within the GCash ecosystem for payments, daily expenses, transfers, savings, and investments.

The development responds to a significant increase in remittance flows from the UAE to the Philippines. Botim reported a 145 percent year-on-year rise in the value of remittances sent to the Philippines via its platform during the first eight months of 2026. Additionally, its user base conducting these transactions grew by 115 percent over the same period. Botim serves a sizable portion of the Filipino expatriate community in the UAE, with 548,000 verified Filipino users on its platform. In the Philippines, Botim is also widely used, with 2.2 million users in the past year.

The integration connects Botim’s remittance platform directly to GCash, which boasts over 94 million registered users. This link enables recipients in the Philippines to receive funds instantly in their GCash wallets, facilitating immediate access to a broad range of financial services offered by GCash.

Jonathan Que, General Manager of GCash International, highlighted the benefits of the partnership, emphasizing that it provides Filipinos in the UAE with enhanced options for supporting their families back home. Que noted that direct wallet access makes remittances more efficient and better aligned with the financial needs of Filipino households, simplifying the process of sending and using funds internationally.
