Jeremy Thomas, the acclaimed British film producer behind notable works such as *The Last Emperor* and *Sexy Beast*, died peacefully at the age of 77. According to a statement from his publicist, Thomas passed away on Friday at his country home in Oxfordshire, surrounded by family and friends.

Throughout his extensive career, Thomas collaborated with prominent directors including Bernardo Bertolucci and David Cronenberg, establishing himself as a significant figure in the international film industry. His production credits include a diverse range of films that have garnered both critical acclaim and commercial success.

However, Thomas is perhaps most renowned for producing *The Last Emperor* (1987), a historical drama depicting the life of Puyi, the last emperor of China’s Qing dynasty.
