Three luxury apartments at the newly completed Billyard Avenue Residences in Elizabeth Bay have sold for a combined total of $61.5 million within one week, highlighting strong demand in Sydney’s high-end property market. The three buyers, all with backgrounds in the finance sector, acquired units priced at $19.5 million, $20.5 million, and $21.5 million respectively.
The most expensive of the recent sales, at $21.5 million, was purchased by former Macquarie head of property Bill Moss, along with his wife, Lata, and daughter, Natalie Cooney. Previous buyers in the development include prominent figures such as Matt Allen, the former UBS Japan head and Sydney to Hobart-winning yachtsman, lawyer Chris Coudounaris, and Andrew Michael, founder of Apparel Group.
Billyard Avenue Residences comprises nine high-end apartments, each featuring four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms. The units range from two to three parking spaces per apartment, with the recently sold properties each including three parking spots. Two apartments remain available, listed at $18 million and $21 million. The project is being marketed jointly by Ray White Projects and Richardson & Wrench Elizabeth Bay/Potts Point.
Ray White Projects managing partner Eddie Mansour described the recent sales as exceptional, especially amid a market characterised by cautious buyers. Mansour noted that achieving three sales totaling $61.5 million in a single week was an outstanding accomplishment under current economic conditions.
“These results have exceeded our expectations for the current market and are a testament to the quality of Billyard Avenue,” Mansour said. He added that luxury buyers recognised the distinction between conventional apartments and residences offering exceptional scale, design, and execution.
Developed by North East Corp, Billyard Avenue Residences draws on European architectural influences and Sydney’s Art Deco heritage, incorporating a contemporary touch. Designed by SJB, the north-facing apartments offer more than 360 square metres of internal living space, with most units featuring views of Sydney Harbour. The building is conveniently located near Beare Park, Elizabeth Bay Marina, and Potts Point.
Mansour suggested that the development fills a niche for buyers seeking a substantial living environment with the convenience of apartment living, offering generous entertaining spaces, privacy, and accommodation suitable for families as an alternative to traditional large houses. The apartments are currently ready for immediate occupancy.
