A fire ignited in an abandoned Bangladesh Railway coach in the Banglabazar area near Sadarghat, Dhaka, on the evening of October 2. The blaze was reported around 5:30 p.m. opposite Rashid Building, prompting a swift response from three fire units dispatched from two nearby stations.

Fire service officials, led by Monem Billah, senior station officer at Bandar Station, worked for nearly an hour to contain the fire. The flames were brought under control by approximately 6:50 p.m., with no significant damage reported.

Initial investigations suggest that discarded cigarette remnants, possibly left by local drug users, may have been the cause of the fire. Authorities have not identified any injuries or further impacts related to the incident.
