Orlando City and the Chicago Fire fought to a 2-2 draw on Wednesday evening at Soldier Field, with Orlando rallying late to earn a point after falling behind by two goals early in the match.

Iván Angulo opened the scoring for Orlando City in the sixth minute, holding off a defender on the left wing before slipping a shot past Fire goalkeeper Chris Brady. Orlando extended its lead in the 35th minute when Antoine Griezmann struck from about 25 yards, finishing a swift counterattack and marking his continued strong form. The 35-year-old French forward has now contributed to at least one goal in 12 consecutive MLS matches this season, becoming only the fourth player in league history to reach this milestone. Since joining Orlando City after the World Cup break, Griezmann has accumulated 14 goals and eight assists in 16 regular-season games.

Chicago Fire mounted a comeback in the second half, with Jonathan Bamba entering the game at halftime to replace Sergio Oregel Jr. Bamba scored on a header in the 57th minute after receiving a cross from Leonardo Barroso. Maren Haile-Selassie then leveled the score in the 69th minute with a first-touch finish, completing the Fire’s rally from two goals down.

The result leaves the Fire with a record of 15 wins, 10 losses, and 7 draws, earning 52 points and positioning them fourth in the Eastern Conference. They hold a narrow two-point lead over fifth-place Charlotte with just over a week remaining in the regular season. Orlando City stands seventh in the conference, with a 12-13-7 record and 43 points.

Both teams continue to vie for favorable positioning heading into the final stretch of the MLS regular season. The Fire seek to solidify a playoff berth, while Orlando City aims to gain ground in the standings as the postseason approaches.
