A house connected to the Lyons crime family in Glasgow’s Barlanark area was targeted in a violent attack early yesterday when a car was driven into the property and set on fire. Emergency responders were called to the scene after flames from the vehicle spread to the front door of the end-terrace home.

The property is linked to a relative of a Lyons gang associate who cannot be named for legal reasons. This is the second time the same house has been attacked; in February, a vehicle was rammed into the side of the building. Police have taped off the house and restricted access to the street as part of an ongoing investigation.

Sources close to the case suggest the incident was retaliatory, following a firebomb attack earlier this week on a business associated with a close ally of rival criminal leader Mark Richardson in Edinburgh. One insider described the violence as “revenge” in a gang conflict involving the Daniel and Richardson factions. The targeted individuals are reportedly senior members of the Tamo Junto (TMJ) gang, which has long-standing ties to the Lyons family.

Photographs captured shortly after the attack show a white Nissan Juke ablaze outside the residence, with debris scattered throughout the garden. The vehicle appears to have struck the living room’s double window, leaving scorch marks on the brickwork. A neighbor reported seeing two men loitering near a parked car on the street prior to the attack, overhearing one ask if the other "had the petrol" before the car was driven into the house and set alight.

This incident follows a recent firebombing of the Garage Conversion Company in Edinburgh, owned by Derek Welsh. Welsh is connected by marriage to Mercedes McMillan, a relative of David McMillan Sr., a close associate of Richardson whose home in Pitcairn Grove has previously been targeted. The series of retaliatory attacks are part of an escalating gang feud that intensified last year when TMJ leader Ross McGill accused Richardson’s crew of financing a £500,000 cocaine shipment using counterfeit banknotes.

Separately, four men aged 24, 31, 39, and 41 have been arrested and charged in Edinburgh after a skip lorry was used to ram into a residence on Brand Drive in Portobello. The house belongs to the mother of a 19-year-old alleged to have defrauded Ross McGill. According to Police Scotland, the men are scheduled to appear before Edinburgh Sheriff Court on June 19.
