The wife of a missing Malaysian fireman has traveled to flood-affected areas in Nepal to assist in the search for her husband and his team members, while also helping deliver aid to disaster victims.

Hani Othman is currently working alongside local disaster relief organisation Samundra/Himalayan Leaders, which is distributing supplies to communities impacted by the recent flooding. She posted on social media that she was heading from Nuwakot to Betrawati, areas severely damaged by flash floods and landslides triggered on August 26. The organisation was preparing to move on to Trishuli, a valley and surrounding region also devastated by the natural disaster.

Her husband, Senior Fire Officer II Mohd Fakhrul Munir Mohd Isa, in his 40s and known as Loe, is among those reported missing after an expedition team he led was caught in the flooding in a valley in Rasuwa district. Also missing from the expedition is his colleague, Deputy Director of Operations Mohd Sani Harul.

While distributing aid in Kathmandu, Hani said she met the wife of the driver who had transported the group before the disaster. The driver’s wife was among those rescued from Timure and brought to Kathmandu for safety.

Hani has also coordinated contributions from Malaysians to support the nine-member team. She described the group as kind and generous individuals, highlighting their commitment to helping others. Emphasizing unity, she called on people to set aside differences in religion and race to pray for their safe recovery.

Hani Othman has undertaken the journey alone in an effort to locate her husband and the rest of the missing team, continuing a search amid ongoing relief efforts in the region.
