China’s Vice-President Han Zheng emphasized the country’s unwavering commitment to high-level openness and international cooperation during the opening of the 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade in Xiamen, Fujian province, on Tuesday. The event, which runs through Friday, highlights China’s focus on fostering a global environment conducive to mutual benefit despite ongoing international uncertainties.

Han underscored the importance of global companies seizing the opportunities presented by China’s expanding market and encouraged them to establish a strong presence within the Chinese economy. He also called for collaborative efforts to build an open, innovative global ecosystem while preserving the multilateral trading system.

The fair this year demonstrates significant growth, covering 200,000 square meters—up from 120,000 square meters last year—and attracting more than 1,200 government and business delegations representing 129 countries and regions. In addition, 30 notable international organizations are participating, reflecting sustained confidence in China’s market prospects.

This iteration of the event features, for the first time, two guest countries of honor: Finland and Saudi Arabia, highlighting the fair’s expanding global reach and its role in promoting international investment partnerships. The themes driving the exhibition include "Invest in China," "China’s Outbound Investment," and "International Investment," signaling a dual focus on welcoming foreign investment and encouraging Chinese enterprises to expand abroad.
