First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) reported a 3 percent increase in group net profit, reaching AED 16.46 billion for the first nine months of 2026. The growth was driven by higher lending volumes, improved interest margins, and expanded banking activities.
According to the bank’s financial results for the period ending September 30, FAB’s operating income grew 7 percent year-on-year to AED 29.71 billion, while profit before tax advanced 5 percent to AED 20.22 billion. The bank sustained its earnings momentum in the third quarter, with profit before tax rising 9 percent from the same period last year, reaching AED 7.01 billion. The bank attributed these gains to continued business activity, revenue growth, and effective cost management.
Loan and advances increased by 10 percent from the start of the year to AED 679 billion, reflecting steady demand for financing across both wholesale and retail banking segments. Customer deposits rose 5 percent year-to-date, totaling AED 885 billion. Meanwhile, total assets expanded 7 percent to AED 1.47 trillion by the end of September.
Net interest income, which encompasses earnings from lending and other interest-bearing assets after the cost of funds, rose 11 percent year-on-year to AED 16.98 billion. Non-interest income, including fees and revenue from other banking operations, grew 3 percent to AED 12.73 billion and accounted for 43 percent of the bank’s total operating income. Operating profit increased 8 percent, reaching AED 23.32 billion over the nine-month period.
These results underscore FAB’s continued growth across key financial metrics amid a stable economic environment in the UAE.
