KUWAIT CITY — Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, conducted an inspection of the general department of criminal evidence to assess its operations and technological advancements. The visit took place on September 2, 2026, at the department’s headquarters.

During the inspection, Brigadier Abdulrahim Al-Awadhi, the department’s Director General, provided Sheikh Fahad with an overview of ongoing development plans aimed at enhancing the department’s capabilities. The minister observed a detailed presentation highlighting the integration of artificial intelligence technologies within criminal investigations, focusing on applications such as identity verification and forgery detection. These innovations represent part of the department’s broader efforts to modernize its investigative tools.

Sheikh Fahad also toured various sections within the department, including several laboratories, where he reviewed operational procedures and the technical services provided. At the conclusion of his visit, the Interior Minister issued directives to prioritize continued development of the criminal evidence department.
