Oman is set to be represented by five athletes at the World Bodybuilding Championships, scheduled to take place in Barcelona, Spain, from October 29 to November 2. The national team aims to achieve podium finishes in various bodybuilding and physique categories at the event.

The team includes Ahmed al Hasani and Khalid al Shukaili, who will compete in the bodybuilding division. Nasr al Wahaibi is slated to participate in the muscular physique category, while Issa al Yaarubi is entered in the classic physique event. Abdulmajeed al Raisi will represent Oman in the men’s physique category.

The delegation is headed by Mohammed al Araimi and includes team administrator Abdulsalam al Dughaishi, national coach Habib al Balushi, and photographer Salim al Zaidi. These athletes secured their spots on the team based on their performances at the 20th Oman Bodybuilding Championships held in June. This domestic competition served as a critical platform to evaluate the athletes’ condition and select those best prepared for international competition.

In the months following their selection, the team has engaged in an intensive training program emphasizing conditioning improvements and technical refinement to enhance performance readiness. This preparation aims to position Omani athletes competitively against top international contenders.

Besides competing, Oman’s presence at the championships extends to administrative involvement. Imad al Din al Salti, Chairman of the Oman Bodybuilding Committee, will attend the event’s international bodybuilding congress, which features the international federation’s general assembly elections. His participation guarantees Oman's voice in global discussions concerning the sport’s governance and future development.

The World Bodybuilding Championships represent a strategic opportunity for Oman to augment its athletes’ experience on a global stage while advancing the development of bodybuilding within the country. Increased international exposure is expected to aid competitors’ growth and preparation for upcoming global events, reinforcing the committee’s commitment to strengthening Oman’s role in the sport worldwide.
