Five people were killed and three others injured in a high-speed collision between two vehicles in northern Afghanistan’s Kunduz province on Friday, local officials reported. The accident took place on the outskirts of the Imam Sahib district, according to Jumadin Khaksar, a spokesman for the provincial police.
Khaksar indicated that the crash occurred when a vehicle carrying young passengers collided head-on with an oncoming car, attributing the incident to reckless driving. All five individuals who died at the scene were young people. The three injured victims were promptly transferred to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the precise circumstances that led to the collision. Further details about the identities of those involved and the condition of the injured were not immediately available.
