Kuwait’s Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity (SACGC), part of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), has announced the conclusion of its “Incubating Ideas and Innovations in Food and Water Security 2026” program. The initiative, held in collaboration with Spain’s IE University, saw five Kuwaiti projects advance to the international phase to be hosted in Spain.

The program aims to support innovators in Kuwait by helping them develop solutions that address critical challenges related to food and water security. It attracted substantial interest, receiving 106 applications, of which 112 candidates were approved after meeting eligibility requirements. These participants embarked on a specialized training and development journey that began in late June and continued through September.

The training included a week-long in-person session designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge necessary to refine their projects and ideas. The SACGC praised the diversity and creativity of the initiatives presented during the program.

The top five projects selected to move forward to the international stage represent various sectors within food and water security. Abdulrahman Al-Furaih’s project, PADLOGIX, placed first in the area of food security and agriculture. Ahmad Al-Muhatab’s MIRAGE secured second place, focusing on water and energy. Third place went to Abdulwahab Al-Mutawa for DATESHIELD, which addresses food security. Maryam Jamali's LIFECUP project ranked fourth in water security, while Ahmad Al-Salem’s KUWAIT BSF placed fifth, covering food security and the circular economy.

The SACGC emphasized the program’s role in fostering innovation and encouraging Kuwaiti talent to develop practical, creative solutions that can contribute to addressing regional and global challenges related to food and water resources. The upcoming international phase in Spain will provide participants with further opportunities to advance their projects and gain broader exposure.
