The Moulvibazar Shilpakala Academy honored five distinguished individuals with the "Zila Shilpakala Academy Gunijon Sommanona-2025" award for their significant contributions to the cultural landscape of the district. The recognition ceremony took place on Sunday at the Academy’s auditorium.

The recipients of the award included Professor Mamunur Rashid for his work in the field of culture, Roksana Akter for recitation, Md. Rubel Mia for instrumental music under the Bangladesh Shilpakala category, Chowdhury Shamsul Arefin for film, and Md. Masiur Rahman Ripon for his role as a creative cultural organizer.

The event was inaugurated by Moulvibazar-3 Member of Parliament Naser Rahman, who served as the chief guest. The ceremony was chaired by Touhidduzzaman Pavel. Other notable attendees included Superintendent of Police Monirul Islam, Zila Parishad Administrator Mizanur Rahman, Zila BNP Convener Foyzul Karim Moyun, and Abdur Rahim Ripon, Member Secretary of the Academy.

Md Samion, director of Research and Publication at the Shilpakala Academy’s New Media Division in Dhaka, delivered the welcome address, emphasizing the importance of recognizing local talent and the role such awards play in nurturing art and culture in the region.

Speakers at the event underscored the significance of cultural programs in promoting artistic expression and encouraging community participation. The ceremony attracted numerous local cultural activists and members of civil society.

Following the award presentation, the program featured a variety of cultural performances by several organizations, showcasing the richness and diversity of the local cultural heritage.
