Paul Flack, the brother of television presenter Caroline Flack, died by suicide on June 21, 2026, according to an inquest held in Norfolk. He was found unresponsive in his garden on Father’s Day and was pronounced dead later that evening.

Caroline Flack, a former host known for shows such as Love Island and The X Factor, died by suicide in February 2020. Her death had a profound impact on Paul Flack. His partner, Joanna Millington, told the inquest that Paul never fully recovered from his sister’s passing. In a social media post shortly after Caroline’s death, Paul shared a childhood photo of Caroline with the message, “Love you, Caroline.”

The inquest also revealed additional family challenges. Paul’s father, Ian Flack, passed away in November 2025 at age 77 after a struggle with dementia. Ms. Millington said she encouraged Paul to seek counselling following Ian’s death, but he continued to battle feelings of sadness.

Paul, 55, was a self-employed graphic designer whose work had declined in recent years, a factor Ms. Millington suggested may have contributed to his emotional state. On the day of Paul’s death in Norwich, the couple spent time together; she watched a film indoors while he consumed beer in the garden.

Neighbor Olive Merrill reported hearing a distressed altercation around 10:30 p.m. She recounted calling out to offer help and hearing a female voice respond, “It’s Paul, I don’t know what to do.” Ms. Merrill then called emergency services and noted hearing Ms. Millington repeatedly mention, “His sister did this, his sister did this.”

Toxicology results indicated Paul had a blood alcohol concentration approximately four times the legal drink-drive limit at the time of his death. No other family members were present during the inquest hearing.

Norfolk area coroner Johanna Thompson concluded that Paul Flack took his own life while under the influence of alcohol. The coroner noted that his precise intentions could not be determined.

Caroline Flack was found dead at her home in Stoke Newington, northeast London, on February 15, 2020. A previous inquest ruled her death a suicide, linked to the distress she experienced after learning she would face prosecution for allegedly assaulting her boyfriend.
