Alex King, 28, of Bewick Lane, Ovingham, has been granted bail ahead of his trial on charges of public exposure. The incident is alleged to have occurred on July 2, 2025, at the Corn Exchange balcony in Alnwick.
King appeared this week before South East Northumberland Magistrates Court, where he pleaded not guilty to the charge of exposure. According to the prosecution, witnesses reported hearing shouting and then saw King standing naked on the balcony. Prosecutor Jade Houston stated that the defendant was not only unclothed but was also allegedly seen grabbing his genitals.
In his defense, King maintained that there was no intent to cause distress. His lawyer, Stewart Hay, argued that King simply forgot he was not wearing any clothes at the time of the incident.
The court has scheduled King’s trial to take place at Newcastle Magistrates Court on November 17, and he has been granted bail until then.
