A Florida middle school teacher was arrested following an incident in which she allegedly dragged a seventh-grade student from his desk into a hallway, according to authorities. The incident took place on September 29 at Tuskawilla Middle School in Seminole County.
Fada Concepcion, 52, a science teacher with nearly three decades of experience in Seminole County Public Schools, was taken into custody on Thursday on suspicion of child abuse without great bodily harm. Investigators said the incident occurred during the third period when Concepcion reportedly grabbed the student by the arm and pulled him about 20 feet from the classroom to an exterior hallway.
The student reported the event to school officials, prompting a review of surveillance footage by school administrators. After confirming the details, law enforcement was notified, leading to an investigation by the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office.
When questioned by deputies, Concepcion denied intentionally dragging the student, stating she had “no recollection” of doing so and maintained that she had merely escorted the student out of the classroom. During a court appearance on Friday, her attorney argued that the student had been misbehaving and contended the teacher’s actions did not constitute child abuse.
The school district confirmed Concepcion’s long tenure but has not detailed any disciplinary response pending the outcome of the investigation. Authorities continue to review the matter as legal proceedings move forward.
