A Florida Walmart cashier has been accused of stealing a winning lottery ticket from an elderly customer attempting to claim his prize. The incident occurred on Sunday at a Walmart location in DeLand, where Tameka Hall, 40, allegedly took possession of the ticket valued at approximately $2,700.

According to court documents, surveillance footage captured Hall folding the winning lottery receipt and placing it into her uniform pocket before leaving the store. Police reports indicate that the customer had come to Walmart to redeem the ticket, and while Hall initially explained the redemption process, she did not return the winning receipt necessary to claim the prize money.

Authorities have identified Hall as the suspect, and the case remains under investigation. The theft has prompted discussions on the security measures in place for lottery transactions at retail locations. Walmart has not issued a public statement regarding the incident.
