The Information Department (Japen) Johor has launched an initiative to distribute 5,000 Jalur Gemilang flags through the end of August as part of efforts to promote patriotism ahead of Malaysia’s National Day. Abdul Rahman Abdul Halim, assistant director of Japen Johor, highlighted the program during the official launch of the “Japen Jalur Gemilang Expression” campaign held at a petrol station along the North-South Highway in Skudai.
Since July, Japen Johor has been implementing multiple activities designed to encourage citizens to openly display the national flag and express their love for the country. At the launch event, approximately 200 magnetic flags and other souvenirs were handed out to motorists passing through the location.
In addition to the flag distribution, Japen Johor has also held the “Jago Merdeka” roadshow, which took place at a shopping mall in Johor Baru. This mobile outreach aims to bring National Day celebrations directly to the local community and reinforce the spirit of patriotism throughout the state.
Abdul Rahman expressed hope that the public will proudly fly the Jalur Gemilang and actively engage in the various National Day activities organized across Johor. The initiative reflects ongoing government efforts to foster national unity and encourage broader participation in the August 31 celebrations.
