Scituate secured a 42-28 victory over North Quincy on Friday night, clinching at least a share of the Patriot League title. The win was highlighted by an outstanding performance from senior running back and safety Grayson Foley, who dominated both offensively and defensively.

Foley, already holding two state championship rings and the all-time rushing record for Scituate, carried the ball 38 times for 347 yards and scored all six of his team’s touchdowns. Defensively, he added three interceptions, playing a key role in limiting North Quincy’s offense. The senior, who has committed to play baseball at Bryant University, credited his teammates for the success. “I’m nothing without my teammates. All the stats, all the accolades, it’s all because of them,” Foley said.

Scituate (7-0 overall, 4-0 Patriot League) won the opening coin toss and chose to receive, setting an aggressive tone early in the game. Their initial drive covered 76 yards in six plays over just two minutes, culminating in a two-yard touchdown run by Foley. Shortly after, he broke free for a 51-yard touchdown, pushing Scituate to a 14-0 lead.

North Quincy (6-1, 2-1) responded in the second quarter with junior quarterback Cole Doyle connecting with Jaylen Williams for two touchdowns, tying the game at 14 by halftime. However, the momentum shifted quickly in the second half.

On the first play after halftime, Foley intercepted a pass from Doyle and immediately followed with a 47-yard touchdown run to give Scituate a 21-14 lead. Foley’s defensive impact continued as he secured a third interception on North Quincy’s next drive. That turnover set up a 33-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Stelljes to Thomas Murray, and Foley soon scored again from inside the five-yard line.

Despite a 57-yard touchdown run by North Quincy senior running back Gavin Brown, who finished with 188 total yards, Scituate maintained control in the fourth quarter. Foley added two more touchdowns in the final period to seal the win.

Scituate coach Herb Devine praised Foley’s performance and the game plan that centered on the running back’s abilities. “Sometimes when you review the game plan, you look at all of these plays and you decide, just go zone left and zone right with Mr. Grayson,” Devine said.

With the victory, Scituate continues their undefeated streak and firmly positions themselves at the top of the Patriot League standings.
