KUWAIT CITY — The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN) announced on Monday the closure of a food establishment following a raid that uncovered significant violations, including the sale of spoiled and substandard food products.

The inspection was conducted by the Capital Governorate Inspection Department in coordination with the Capital Governorate Security Directorate at the Ministry of Interior. Authorities issued 10 violation reports during the campaign and destroyed a total of 134.116 kilograms of food items deemed non-compliant with health and safety regulations.

Among the infractions cited by PAFN were the improper thawing of frozen meat and offering it for sale as fresh, in addition to breaches related to general hygiene standards. The establishment also failed to maintain valid licenses and health certificates for its employees.

The crackdown underscores the ongoing regulatory efforts by PAFN to ensure food safety and protect public health in Kuwait. The authority did not disclose the name or location of the establishment involved.
