Lyvin Melasti, the latest addition to the Lyvin portfolio of luxury villas, offers a designer accommodation option in the emerging Melasti Beach area of Uluwatu, located on Bali’s Bukit Peninsula. The complex features 16 private villas, each with ocean views and individual pools, catering primarily to groups and families seeking privacy and spaciousness.
The Bukit Peninsula remains largely undeveloped, meaning that guests will find limited dining and nightlife options within immediate walking distance. However, Indonesia’s popular ride-hailing service Gojek provides convenient and affordable delivery to the villas. Each villa is equipped with a full kitchen, coffee machine, and laundry facilities. One villa in the complex includes four double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, some offering baths with views overlooking the ocean.
The villa complex is designed for seclusion; the tiered landscaping ensures unobstructed views for every unit, and visitors may not encounter other guests during their stay. Interiors feature a modern, minimalist aesthetic, emphasizing natural materials and floor-to-ceiling glass to maximize light and scenery. While breakfast currently must be ordered from a nearby café, plans are underway to open an on-site spa and restaurant complex by December, including a hotel and communal swimming pool.
For dining outside the villa, the Uluwatu area provides a variety of options. Recommended venues include Masonry, known for wood-fired Mediterranean dishes prepared by Australian chef Benji Cross, who has experience from Raes on Wategos, and Kala Uluwatu, which specializes in upscale Greek cuisine.
Melasti Beach itself is approximately an eight-minute scooter ride from the villa complex and offers a quiet, picturesque setting with white sands and clear waters beneath steep limestone cliffs. The beach is more suited to relaxation than surfing. Visitors should carry cash, as some local beaches require small entry fees. Melasti is also home to several notable beach clubs such as White Rock, Tropical Temptation, Palmilla, and Klive, where guests can rent sun beds and enjoy refreshments like fresh coconuts at affordable prices.
