A report released on Monday by House Democrats alleges that former Miss Switzerland and model Beatrice Keul was raped by U.S. President Donald Trump at New York’s Plaza Hotel in November 1993. The report, part of an investigation into Trump’s alleged ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, presents detailed accusations from Keul and four other women who claim Trump sexually assaulted or raped them.
Keul, who was 24 at the time, reportedly met Trump during a beauty pageant event at the Plaza Hotel, which he owned then. She alleges Trump promised to help her obtain a visa and gain admission to New York University, saying, “I will take care of you.” According to the report, she was later invited upstairs to meet Trump, where she claims he forcibly raped her, tearing her dress and causing bruising. Keul described the assault as “brutal.” The report states that after the alleged attack, Trump allegedly made her promise to keep quiet, asserting, “The show must go on.”
This account marks a change from Keul’s previous public statements. In 2024, during the U.S. presidential election campaign, Keul accused Trump of unwanted sexual advances but did not use the term rape. At that time, she described how Trump kissed her and tried to lift her dress but said the encounter did not escalate further, attributing her ability to stop the assault partly to her physical stature.
The report also includes statements from four other women who accuse Trump of rape or sexual assault, asserting that Trump, Epstein, and associates used events at the Plaza Hotel as opportunities to exploit young women. Jamie Raskin, the ranking member of the House committee that produced the report, said that Trump’s Justice Department appears to be covering up these alleged crimes. He also indicated that Epstein or his associate Ghislaine Maxwell tried to traffic women to Trump.
A spokesperson for the White House dismissed the report as politically motivated, reaffirming that Trump has been “fully exonerated of anything related to Epstein.” Trump has denied any wrongdoing involving Epstein and has stated that he ended his friendship with Epstein before criminal suspicions arose, referring to Epstein as a “creep” who was removed from Mar-a-Lago.
The release of the report comes just one week before U.S. midterm elections, a period in which Trump’s association with Epstein and issues such as inflation and energy costs are seen as factors affecting Republican candidates. The investigation by House Democrats seeks to shed light on the nature of Trump’s alleged interactions with Epstein and whether crimes were concealed by government officials.
