Former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly disclosed on Tuesday that he was hospitalized earlier this year after suffering a stroke. The Pro Football Hall of Famer shared the update during a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly completed Bills stadium.

Kelly, 66, described the stroke as a “little setback” that occurred about six weeks prior to the event. Despite ongoing challenges with his eyesight and hearing, he emphasized that he is currently feeling well. “My eye-sight’s not great. My hearing still sucks, but that’s part of life,” he said.

Kelly’s health has been closely followed since he underwent treatment for cancer in previous years. He received a combination of surgeries and chemotherapy in 2013, 2014, and 2018 due to multiple cancer diagnoses. Recent medical tests have reportedly yielded no new issues.

The former quarterback is widely recognized for his career with the Buffalo Bills, where he led the team to four consecutive Super Bowl appearances in the early 1990s. His openness about his health struggles adds to ongoing public awareness surrounding stroke recovery and cancer survivorship.
