Former NFL defensive end Marcellus Wiley was arrested on a domestic battery charge in Florida over the weekend. Wiley, 51, was taken into custody by Orange County sheriff’s deputies on Saturday and remained held in jail without bond. Jail records did not provide further details regarding the circumstances of the arrest.

This incident adds to ongoing legal challenges facing Wiley. Earlier this year in May, reports indicated that four individuals, including a former ESPN production assistant, filed a lawsuit in New York accusing him of sexual assault. Additionally, three other plaintiffs have brought separate lawsuits alleging that Wiley raped them while he was a student at Columbia University in 1994.

Wiley has not publicly responded to the allegations or the recent arrest as of this time. The cases remain active, and no court rulings have been made in connection with the accusations or the battery charge.
