Former Prince Andrew spent a weekend in May at a stud farm near the port city of St Malo in Brittany, France, hosted by Mohammad Baker, an Arab billionaire and racehorse owner. Baker, who serves as an envoy for the United Arab Emirates, owns the estate where the former royal stayed.
A farm worker at the property described a path leading from the farm to the nearby beach, a route reportedly used when taking horses for runs along the shore. The former prince was also observed playing boules during his visit.
Since February, Andrew has largely withdrawn from public life following his departure from Royal Lodge on the Windsor estate. This move came amid ongoing allegations concerning his association with the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, allegations that Andrew has consistently denied.
Mohammad Baker is the chief executive of the conglomerate GMG and maintains close connections to UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Requests for comment from Baker regarding the visit have not been responded to.
