Four individuals have been charged with attempted murder following a series of violent incidents during Arsenal’s victory parade in London on May 31, according to the Metropolitan Police. The parade, held in Islington to celebrate the football club’s Premier League title, drew an estimated crowd of up to one million supporters.

Police arrested 29 people in connection with multiple disturbances, including stabbings and assaults. Among those charged with attempted murder are two teenagers and two men. Authorities have also charged eight others with offenses such as grievous bodily harm, sexual assault, and assault on emergency workers.

The Metropolitan Police have released images of several individuals they wish to question in relation to further incidents. These include a racially aggravated assault on a woman on Upper Street, a reported assault on Highbury Crescent, damage to a vehicle on Caledonian Road, and a separate attack at the King's Head Pub on Upper Street where two men sustained serious injuries. The police have confirmed these events are unrelated to each other.

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Coster expressed disappointment regarding the behavior that marred the celebration, emphasizing that the day was intended to be a safe occasion for fans and their families. He noted that over 500 officers, alongside specialized search and drone teams, were deployed to maintain order and ensure the event was largely peaceful. However, despite these measures, there were episodes of disorder and violence.

In the hours following the parade, six people were stabbed. Emergency responders were also challenged when the London Fire Brigade had to rescue 75 fans who became trapped after climbing onto rooftops, prompting warnings against such dangerous behavior. Police officers sustained injuries as well, including one who suffered a slash wound to the hand and another struck on the head by an object thrown by the crowd.

The Metropolitan Police continue to investigate the incidents surrounding the parade and have urged anyone with information or recognition of the suspects to come forward to assist their inquiries.
