Four individuals have been convicted on multiple charges including rape, drug trafficking, and sexual exploitation of girls, following a case heard in North Wales. The convictions stem from offenses involving abuse facilitated through drugs and coercion.

Among the guilty parties is an individual linked to Zayn’s Coffee House in Rhyl, where one rape incident occurred just outside the former business premises. This defendant was found guilty on three counts of rape, two counts related to conspiracy to traffic individuals, two counts of conspiracy to compel a person to perform compulsory labor, and supplying cannabis to another person.

Another defendant, Singh from Rhyl, was convicted of two counts of conspiracy to traffic individuals and one count of supplying cannabis. Gray, aged 53 from Gronant, was found guilty of conspiracy to supply both cocaine and cannabis.

The investigation and subsequent trial were supported by Barnardo’s, a children’s charity, working alongside North Wales Police to assist the victims. Sarah Crawley, representing Barnardo’s, highlighted the bravery of the survivors, stating their willingness to come forward and testify was crucial in holding the offenders accountable. She emphasized that their courage not only led to these convictions but also contributed to safeguarding other children.

Louisa Robertson, of the Crown Prosecution Service, echoed these sentiments, recognizing the victims’ strength in speaking out against their abusers. She noted that their testimony was instrumental in achieving justice for all those charged.

The case underscores the collaborative efforts between law enforcement and social services to address and prosecute complex cases of sexual exploitation and trafficking involving vulnerable individuals. Sentencing details for the convicted individuals have not yet been disclosed.
