Four militants were killed during an intelligence-led operation conducted by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, officials reported on Thursday. The operation took place in the Mirak Chori area near Peshawar after security agencies received information suggesting that the militants were planning attacks targeting security forces and government installations.

According to the CTD, the militants engaged security personnel in a firefight that lasted approximately 20 to 25 minutes. The exchange of fire ended with the deaths of four suspects. Authorities recovered three assault rifles, a pistol, a hand grenade, and a quantity of ammunition from the scene.

Officials indicated that investigations are ongoing, and a search operation continues to locate any additional suspects who may have fled during the operation. The CTD emphasized efforts to dismantle militant networks in the region to prevent future attacks.
