Comedy Box Office is set to return to Dubai this month for its seventh season, featuring four shows spread across four months at the Emirates International Theatre. The series will showcase a lineup of rising Indian stand-up comedians, culminating with Sharon Verma’s first live performance in the city on December 27.
The season opens on September 12 with a triple bill that includes Rajat Chauhan, Siddhartha Shetty, and Anmol Garg. Chauhan’s comedy focuses on clean, observational humor derived from everyday Indian life. Shetty is known for his energetic stage presence, while Garg explores the frustrations of modern living in his sets.
October’s show, scheduled for the 25th, will feature Onkar Yadav, Shreya Priyam Roy, and Pranav Sharma. Yadav, who gained recognition through Marathi television before transitioning to stand-up, is noted for his character-driven performances and precise timing. Roy brings an observational style representative of the newer wave of Indian comedians, and Sharma specializes in long-form storytelling.
The November performance on the 28th will be headlined by Jaspreet Singh, known professionally as Life of Paaji. Singh’s comedy draws heavily on Punjabi family life and everyday experiences, with much of his popularity stemming from social media videos.
The season concludes with Sharon Verma’s Dubai debut, marking a significant milestone for the comedian who rose to prominence after appearing on India’s Got Latent and building a strong following through social media platforms. Verma is recognized for her observational humor and narrative style.
Ashwin Sancheti, founder of Spotlight Entertainment, which organizes the Comedy Box Office series, noted that the lineup reflects the evolving landscape of Indian comedy. He highlighted Verma’s rapid rise and expressed enthusiasm about presenting her to audiences in the United Arab Emirates for the first time.
The series aims to bring emerging Indian comedic talent to Dubai audiences in a showcase that spans diverse styles and regional influences.
