Six individuals, including four women and two men, have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 23-year-old woman in Islington, north London. The incident occurred at an apartment in the 36-storey Valencia Tower on Bollinder Place, where emergency services were called just after 9:30 a.m. last Thursday in response to welfare concerns.

Upon arrival, officers and paramedics found the woman unresponsive; she was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s next of kin are being contacted. The four women, aged between 20 and 26, and two men, aged 21 and 24, were apprehended at the location but have since been released on bail as the investigation continues.

Valencia Tower, completed in 2024, is a high-rise residential building with apartments valued up to £1.5 million. Police were observed entering the building with camera equipment and cardboard boxes during the ensuing inquiry period. A security guard, who regularly interacted with the victim, said she had previously been the subject of monitoring due to disturbances connected to her flat. The guard described her as kind and expressed concern for the tragedy, especially given his personal connection as a father.

Police have broadened their inquiries to include Redwood House, located opposite Valencia Tower. Officers reportedly questioned residents in nearby buildings with views overlooking the flat, seeking any potential eyewitness accounts.

Superintendent Jason Stewart acknowledged the gravity of the situation, extending sympathies to the deceased’s family and friends. He reassured the community that police presence would remain visible and that there was no indication of an ongoing threat, describing the event as an isolated incident. Stewart encouraged residents with questions to engage with local officers.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller, leading the investigation, stated that inquiries were advancing rapidly. He noted that detectives were conducting forensic examinations, gathering and reviewing evidence, and interviewing witnesses to reconstruct the events leading up to the woman’s death. Waller appealed to the public for information, emphasizing that even seemingly minor details could prove valuable to the case.
