Patrick Delany, the chief executive of Australian pay-TV operator Foxtel, is set to assume a broader leadership role at sports streaming company DAZN, the global parent company of Foxtel. Delany will relocate to London by the end of the year to become DAZN’s group chief operating officer, a key position overseeing the company’s worldwide operations.

In his new role, Delany will report directly to DAZN chief executive Shay Segev and will be responsible for managing global marketing, content, sports rights, revenue growth, subscriber expansion, and production activities. Additionally, he will serve as chairman of DAZN’s local businesses in each country where the platform operates, including Australia.

Despite the shift, Delany will remain chairman of Foxtel, while Peter O’Connell, a board member with a background in telecommunications and prior leadership positions at Amaysim, Superloop, and Autosports, will succeed him as Foxtel CEO. O’Connell led Amaysim through its initial public offering on the Australian Securities Exchange and its subsequent $250 million sale to Optus in 2021.

Delany expressed enthusiasm about the expanded responsibilities, highlighting DAZN’s global reach as a leading sports entertainment platform and his commitment to contributing to its growth after more than two decades developing the Foxtel business.

Delany joined Foxtel as CEO in early 2018 after seven years as head of Fox Sports. Foxtel became part of DAZN following a $3.4 billion acquisition finalized in April 2025.

Other executive changes within DAZN include the promotion of Mark Frain, current CEO of DAZN Media+, to a newly created role as CEO Streaming and Advertising. Hilary Perchard, CEO of Kayo Sports, Binge, and Foxtel, will transition to a consulting position based in Europe, and Julian Ogrin, Foxtel’s chief business officer, will depart the company after eight years. These moves reflect a broader management restructure coinciding with the company’s global expansion plans.
