Freddie Moncur and Jordan Williams have both completed moves to Isthmian League clubs ahead of the 2026-27 season, with Moncur returning to Grays Athletic and Williams joining Hendon.
Moncur, 29, a midfielder with previous spells at Ware and Enfield, is set to rejoin Grays Athletic in the Isthmian North Division. The player expressed enthusiasm about reuniting with the club and contributing his experience at Step 4 level. Speaking after agreeing to the move, Moncur said he had an encouraging conversation with Grays manager Mitch Hahn during the summer and looked forward to the upcoming campaign. He highlighted his familiarity with the club and its players, adding that he believes he has improved as a player since his last stint. Moncur aims to help the team achieve success in the new season.
Meanwhile, Hendon manager Adam Fisher has welcomed the addition of centre-back Jordan Williams, describing the signing as a "massive coup" for the club. Williams, 28, arrives from St Ives Town, where Fisher was formerly assistant manager. Fisher praised Williams as one of the standout central defenders at Step 3 over the past four years. The manager noted that upon taking charge at Hendon, he approached Williams—who now lives nearby—to discuss the possibility of joining the squad. Fisher emphasized the existing working relationship they have shared for three years and expressed confidence that Williams will be an influential presence both on the field and within the club environment.
These acquisitions reflect the clubs’ ambitions to strengthen their squads ahead of the new season and underline the significance of experienced players familiar with the demands of non-league football. Both Moncur and Williams bring valuable expertise and leadership qualities to their respective sides as they prepare for competitive campaigns in the Isthmian League structure.
