Freddy Brazier’s dog, Pablo, will not be euthanized following an incident in which the dog injured Brazier and his grandmother, Jackiey Budden. The attack, which occurred earlier this month in Bermondsey, South London, left Brazier with a 3cm wound on his right arm and Budden, 68, also wounded. Both required medical attention after the altercations.

According to sources close to the family, Pablo, an 18-month-old Pocket Bully—a smaller variant of the XL Bully breed—was suffering from a urinary tract infection at the time, which veterinarians believe may have contributed to the dog’s unusual behavior. Prior to the incident, there were no reports of Pablo displaying aggressive tendencies.

The series of events unfolded last Wednesday when Brazier rushed from his father Jeff’s home in Essex to Budden’s residence after the dog had already bitten her. Brazier was reportedly attempting to remove Pablo from the flat when he was also attacked. The injuries followed an earlier alarm raised by neighbors who heard Budden screaming during the attack.

Brazier had been given seven days to present a case advocating for Pablo’s survival and to arrange alternative care for the dog. He has now successfully secured assurances that Pablo will not be put down. Plans are underway for the dog to be placed with a specialist trainer who will provide rehabilitative care aimed at restoring Pablo’s behavior before future decisions are made.

Friends of Brazier described the situation as both distressing and unfortunate but emphasized his belief that Pablo is not inherently aggressive. The rehabilitation effort reflects an attempt to address the underlying health issues that potentially triggered the attacks.

The family’s focus remains on ensuring the safety of all involved while seeking the best possible outcome for Pablo following the incident.
