Sharjah has unveiled a diverse lineup of more than 50 activities for residents and visitors as part of its summer programme running through August and September. Aligned with the UAE’s Year of the Family 2026 initiative, the schedule aims to promote outdoor engagement, fitness, cultural exploration, and family bonding across the emirate.

Starting August 7 and continuing until September 19, free fitness sessions will be held every Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Al Heera Beach and Khorfakkan Beach. The outdoor workouts include yoga, beach running, family fitness, cycling, ladies-only classes, parent-and-child activities, and community challenges, catering to a wide range of age groups and fitness levels.

In addition, the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) is hosting the Sharjah Saturday Run, a free community running series taking place on four dates across two waterfront locations. Scheduled for August 15 and 29 at Al Qasba, and August 22 and September 5 at Al Majaz Waterfront, the runs begin at 6 p.m., with participants required to register in advance and arrive by 5:45 p.m.

Children aged 7 to 15 are invited to participate in the Summer Explorer Camp at Al Qasba from August 10 to 27. The camp offers educational activities combining science experiments, robotics, coding, engineering, photography, storytelling, public speaking, and entrepreneurship, aiming to develop problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.

Family entertainment will be featured every Friday and Saturday from August 7 through September 19 at Al Majaz Waterfront, where themed evenings with live performances, roaming entertainers, and interactive activities at Splash Park and Kids Fun House will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The programme will conclude with a two-day finale on September 18 and 19.

For those interested in nature and heritage, weekend workshops on biodiversity, sustainability, and art will be available at Al Noor Island. Meanwhile, Mleiha National Park will offer fossil exploration, museum visits, sunset desert tours, and stargazing experiences through special summer packages.

Theatre enthusiasts can attend a staging of “Goldilocks and the Three Bears” at Masrah Al Qasba from August 27 to 30, adding a cultural offering for families during the school holidays.

For a weekend retreat, Sharjah also promotes staycation packages at a variety of Shurooq-managed hospitality destinations. Options include Kingfisher Retreat, Al Badayer Retreat, Al Rayaheen Retreat, Najd Al Meqsar, The Chedi Al Bait Sharjah, and Serai Wing. These locations provide nature- and heritage-inspired environments, from mangrove and desert retreats to restored traditional Emirati homes.

Beyond these offerings, visitors can explore other destinations under Shurooq’s management, including Al Montazah Parks, Heart of Sharjah, House of Wisdom, Kalba Waterfront, Al Rahmaniya Park, and The Flag Island, broadening opportunities for leisure and education throughout the summer months.
