French Minister Delegate Jean-Didier Berger is set to attend the 16th edition of Milipol Qatar, an international homeland security exhibition scheduled from October 20 to 22. The event, held in Doha, will serve as a platform to emphasize and further develop the security partnership between France and Qatar, according to a statement from the French embassy.
Berger’s participation underscores France’s commitment to strengthening institutional ties and fostering dialogue on shared security challenges amid a complex global environment. The minister delegate highlighted the importance of ongoing cooperation that goes beyond government agencies to involve businesses and innovators, reinforcing mutual trust between the two countries.
At the event, the France Pavilion will feature 24 companies, forming the largest foreign delegation. Exhibitors will present advanced technologies and solutions in areas such as cybersecurity, critical infrastructure protection, and counterterrorism. Notable innovations include quantum computing applications, tactical equipment, and integrated surveillance systems designed to address the security and defence needs of both government and civilian sectors.
French firms attending Milipol Qatar aim to expand their footprint in Qatar’s defence, law enforcement, and industrial security markets. They seek to establish partnerships with qualified local entities and engage directly with key decision-makers from both the public and private sectors. The exhibition offers a strategic opportunity to showcase French expertise, explore business collaborations, and align with Qatar’s evolving priorities in security and resilience.
Arnaud Pescheux, the French ambassador to Qatar, described Milipol as a symbol of the longstanding Franco-Qatari relationship, noting its origin in a cooperation agreement dating back to the mid-1990s. The agreement instituted the alternating hosting of the event between the two nations, reflecting enduring trust and joint commitment to homeland security.
The French Pavilion is organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Seine-et-Marne in partnership with Business France and the Trade Department of the French Embassy. It promotes the “Choose France” brand, which aims to highlight France’s attractiveness as a destination for business and innovation in the security sector.
