A European equestrian production combining storytelling, dance, and daring stunts made its Asian debut in Hong Kong this month. "Cavalluna – Gate to the Otherworld" played at the Kai Tak Arena, offering audiences a theatrical experience centered on the relationship between humans and horses.

The narrative follows Meerin, a young sorceress cast out by her community, who embarks on a journey to confront dark forces and alter her destiny. The show integrates an international dance troupe, dynamic music, expansive sets, and skilled equestrian teams, creating a multifaceted performance. More than 50 horses, including breeds such as Friesians, Lusitanos, and mini ponies, took part, with standout moments including liberty sequences where horses perform without reins.

Having already attracted millions of viewers across 30 European cities, the production's Hong Kong run was featured as a key event within the Jockey Club’s Year of the Horse Campaign. The performances concluded on Sunday after drawing audiences of all ages.
