Apple has introduced updated versions of its popular AirPods and Apple Watch, featuring several enhancements aimed at improving user experience and health monitoring.
The latest AirPods models include advancements in audio quality and active noise cancellation. A significant new feature is real-time language translation, designed to assist users in communicating across different languages. Apple has also improved Transparency mode and added Adaptive Audio, which adjusts sound levels based on environmental noise. Another addition, Conversation Awareness, reduces the volume automatically when the user begins speaking, eliminating the need to remove the earbuds during conversations. Despite the added functionality, pricing remains unchanged, with standard AirPods priced at £119. The AirPods 5, which include a wireless charging case, enhanced touch controls, and extended battery life, are available for £139. The new AirPods are set to become available for purchase starting tomorrow.
In addition to the AirPods, Apple is releasing two updated wearable devices: the Apple Watch Ultra 4 and the Apple Watch Series 12. Both models feature improved health tracking capabilities, including more precise heart-rate sensing and heart-rate variability (HRV) monitoring, which can provide insights into stress levels and exercise recovery. A newly introduced personal readiness score helps users determine whether to rest or engage in physical activity.
The Apple Watch Ultra 4 offers a notable battery life improvement, with Apple claiming it can last up to 84 hours between charges. Both watches maintain standard health and fitness tracking functions, such as monitoring sleep, step count, and calorie expenditure. Safety features including fall detection and emergency assistance are also incorporated. The Apple Watch Series 12 is priced starting at £369, while the Apple Watch Ultra 4 carries a price tag of £749. Both devices will be available later this week.
