Gateway College reinforced its international engagement by participating in the 10th Annual IC3 Conference & Expo held on August 19-20 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India. The event gathered nearly 2,000 delegates from the global education sector, including school administrators, university representatives, counsellors, and education specialists.
Representing Gateway College were Chief Operating Officer Thusitha Simon, Deputy Principal of Gateway College Colombo Dr. Hemalatha Pradeep, and senior staff members from its campuses in Kandy, Negombo, and Dehiwala. Their involvement allowed the institution to engage with prominent international education stakeholders and to contribute to discussions focused on the future of higher education and student career pathways.
The conference, marking a significant milestone for the IC3 Movement, centered on the theme “Looking Deeply: From Information to Insight.” It emphasized enhancing counselling and student well-being by helping students make informed decisions about their academic and career trajectories. Gateway College holds a regional partnership with IC3, a relationship underscored during the event when the college presented a commemorative memento to IC3 Movement founder Ganesh Kohli, celebrating both the organisation’s decade-long journey and Gateway’s ongoing collaboration.
A notable contribution from Gateway was Dr. Hemalatha Pradeep’s participation as a high school delegate and panellist. She joined three other experts from universities and counselling sectors to discuss “Recruiting Gen Z from the Global South,” examining shifting expectations among Generation Z students and changes in the landscape of international higher education.
The conference also provided extensive networking opportunities, enabling Gateway’s representatives to cultivate connections with educational institutions and professionals across Asia and globally. These relationships are viewed as instrumental in creating more diverse and accessible higher education pathways for students in the region.
Gateway College’s active role in IC3 2026, both as a regional partner and as a key contributor to the programme, highlights its commitment to aligning with global education trends, strengthening international partnerships, and broadening student opportunities.
