Kuwait’s Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, Sheikh Dr Salman Khalifa Al-Sabah, led the delegation in a virtual preparatory meeting of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) health undersecretaries on Tuesday. The meeting served as a precursor to the twelfth GCC Health Ministers meeting scheduled for September 6 in Bahrain.

According to a statement from Kuwait’s Ministry of Health, the session addressed several key health-related priorities within the GCC framework. Discussions centered on the strategic stockpiling of medicines and medical supplies, the GCC Award for Health Excellence, health insurance policies, and the screening processes for expatriate workers. Participants also reviewed progress on the GCC Health Ministers’ action plan for 2026 to 2030.

The gathering emphasized strengthening coordination across member states in joint health programs and initiatives. It further explored the integration of modern technologies and artificial intelligence into the health sector, aiming to enhance the efficiency and quality of healthcare services.

The ministry highlighted Kuwait’s active role in developing draft resolutions and recommendations to support collaborative health efforts among the Gulf countries. The meeting underscored ongoing efforts to bolster regional cooperation in addressing shared health challenges and advancing healthcare standards across the GCC.
