The Gulf Cooperation Council Joint Program Production Institution (GCCJPPI) is set to release a new children’s television series titled “Jamool” next Saturday. The series will be broadcast on Kuwait TV, Qatar TV, and a number of other Gulf channels and digital platforms, aiming to reach young audiences and families throughout the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
Sheikh Mubarak Fahad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Director General of GCCJPPI, said the series continues the institution’s longstanding tradition of creating content specifically for children. He emphasized that “Jamool” will feature a distinctly Gulf identity, with storylines and characters inspired by the shared culture, environment, and values common to GCC countries. The series is designed to offer an engaging and contemporary narrative that resonates with children while reflecting the unique social and cultural fabric of the region.
According to Sheikh Mubarak, the launch of “Jamool” is part of GCCJPPI’s broader strategy to revitalize its role in the children’s content sector across the Gulf. The institution aims to build on its legacy of beloved productions that have connected multiple generations of Gulf and Arab youth. He noted that the project aspires to extend beyond a television series to become a wider cultural and creative endeavor, encompassing children’s literature and other forms of media featuring original characters and stories that foster identification and engagement.
The initiative is intended to support the strengthening of regional identity, values, and a sense of belonging among younger audiences. Sheikh Mubarak highlighted the importance of presenting these themes in formats and languages that align with contemporary media consumption habits, reflecting changes in how children engage with content today.
Looking ahead, GCCJPPI plans to expand its presence across Gulf media platforms, promoting joint regional productions that maintain cultural authenticity while appealing to new generations. The institution’s efforts seek to balance preserving Gulf heritage with embracing innovation and the evolving landscape of children’s entertainment.
