Trainer George Boughey expressed satisfaction following Moonfall’s victory in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot, crediting jockey Zac Lloyd for a well-judged ride. Boughey noted that the horse appeared to have more to offer than was required, making the win particularly rewarding.
Looking ahead to the day's remaining events, Boughey outlined the prospects for his other runners. Libertango is scheduled to compete in the Albany Stakes at 2:30 p.m. The filly impressed on her debut, and Boughey believes she has improved significantly since. While acknowledging that her low draw on the inside is not ideal, he remains confident given her strong training form and the presence of several favored competitors nearby.
Hopewell Rock will take part in the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes at 3:40 p.m. The horse gained a form boost in the Copper Horse and appears well-prepared for today’s race. Boughey described him as well-suited to the conditions of this contest.
In the Sandringham Stakes at 5:00 p.m., Awaken is expected to challenge after a disappointing run in the Nell Gwyn Stakes, where unfavourable conditions may have affected her performance. Boughey drew a parallel with previous winner Soprano, who had a similar profile, and suggested that Awaken could finish strongly.
Westport will run in the Palace of Holyroodhouse Stakes at 6:10 p.m. According to Boughey, the horse has been excellently trained, but the outcome depends on race dynamics such as the pace and that his starting position may present a challenge.
Boughey serves as an ambassador for Star Sports and continues to target notable success during the Royal Ascot meeting with his stable’s runners.
